I have no idea how I missed this gem of a website! Made with Code offers 14 free and fun coding projects for kids, which I may or may not have spent hours playing for "research purposes". Yes, that is it. Research. Made with Code is an Initiative designed to get more girls interested in Computer Science, but of course, this fantastic resource is great for all kids.

Kids use a simplified version of Google's programming language, Blockly, to make a variety of projects. On the simple side, there is Emojify, which is the first one on the page, but beyond that, some projects get a little bit more tricky and fun!

National Geographic Kids on YouTube!

Guess what? Guess what? Our social media maven, Christina, was running around our virtual office this morning waving her arms wildly and screaming, "National Geographic Kids has a YouTube channel!" her excitement was palpable and infectious, so we threw a bucket of water on her and gave her a cup of decaf. After she calmed down, we checked out the channel and now we all need decaf because HOW COOL IS THIS? It's summer and it's important for us to feel like we are contributing to the fight against brain drain. Also? It's nice when that can happen without us actually participating. Just me?
