Bottom Line: Is it possible to give an app more than five stars? The folks at Cupcake Digital have revamped Bugs & Buttons, making it prettier, faster, and (inconceivably) better. I wouldn't have thought there was any room for improvement, but they've given us something that makes most other kids' apps pale in comparison.

And, y’all, it’s not just Bugs & Buttons that has been re-mastered. Bugs & Buttons 2 and Bug Art have also gotten the royal treatment.

Head to the market with Poppy Cat and her friends to buy food for their picnic. Practice matching, sorting, and learn a little bit of Spanish to boot. This app is geared towards preschool-aged children.

There is something about raccoons that I just love. I can’t explain it. The cute little cartoon raccoon and other forest creatures are just one of the many things that drew me to TinyHands' Raccoon Treehouse app. Cute, high quality graphics only go so far. Luckily this app has lots more to offer! With 12 educational activities focusing on sorting, matching, patterns, colors and more, children will have fun while learning many key skills.

The app is divided into the four seasons, with the spring season being offered for free. The three additional seasons are available through in-app purchase. Children can see how the world of the Multipets changes with each season while discovering the 12 interactive mini games. There is no spoken or written language within the app. Children simply explore and play as they wish in a free play format.

Bottom Line: Grandpa in Space delivers excellent space-themed learning games about planets, shapes, math, opposites, sorting, and rhyming, as well as great video shorts from the International Space Station. Aimed at kids ages 5-8, this adventure is led by our spunky hero, Grandpa. Fairlady Media did a great job keeping the fun and learning evenly "spaced" to prevent boredom and encourage kiddos to travel unprompted.
