I really wish I were Neil DeGrasse Tyson.

I feel like that's what it would take to do justice to Back in Time by Landka Apps. This beautiful app gives you the history of . . . well . . . everything, and it really seems like something our friend Neil should know about. It's an overwhelming amount of information, but Back in Time makes it accessible through a 24-hour clock and linear timelines that allow you to put everything into its proper context. This trip across the universe will keep you (oh, and your child) completely mesmerized with video clips, fun facts and an amazing soundtrack worthy of a film.

I had the distinct pleasure yesterday of being able to spend an entire "snow" (ice/sleet/yuck) day inside with my kids. At least the first half of the day was a pleasure, but after lunch we found ourselves seeking out things to save us from the boredom. My friends at Blue Planet Tales came to the rescue with more fun lessons in history. This time we got to learn about the first man reach the summit of Mt. Everest in The Man Who Touched the Sky.

I've gotta tell you, my kids are pretty excited today. The folks at Blue Planet Tales are making the story of Billy the Kid free for two days. My son has always been fascinated by Billy the Kid, and Blue Planet Tales gives me an age-appropriate way to share the story with him in an entertaining and engaging way.
