We first reviewed Abilipad in February 2013, when Deanne made it a Top Pick app. Its 4½ star rating was well-earned. This great app was just recently updated, so we're taking a fresh look at it! I've made a few additions to the review to include these new updates. Be sure to take a look at it — it's a fabulous app for students with special needs. Abilipad is incredibly customizable to help with adaptive reading and writing. Bottom Line: A ready-to-use AAC app that allows for basic touch-and-talk communication. Useful for teaching vocabulary and simple requests, but has room to make some improvements. Added sections include a visual schedule and token chart, which is a nice bonus.
