As we revisit Hello Spring (Toddler & Learning Games) from Clapenjoy, little users still find our little bunny friend preparing to shake off those Winter blues and get ready for Spring. Join Bunny as he sheds his winter sweater for some cooler attire and heads off to prepare his world for spring.
This app is still one very much driven by visual clues. As little users want to make action happen, they are given multiple prompts to choose from to help move the action along. These prompts help drive the action along, and we get to help the little bunny (and other animals) prepare for Spring.
Children can help the little bunny prepare his vegetable garden by digging holes and planting their chosen seeds. Users can also help the fruit trees blossom and watch a little caterpillar turn into a butterfly. There's a mama bird hatching her eggs and feeding her babies, too, making it feel like Spring is all around.
There are also activities like a cute little jigsaw puzzle and a classic matching game. Kiddos can also brush up on their art skills by coloring some fancy Easter eggs, a sassy bumble bee, or a sweet little bird.
My chief complaint in my previous review was that users were required to play through all of the activities to get to ones that they wanted to repeat. It appears that now we are able to choose between activities at any time from the home screen. This is a huge improvement that eliminates a lot of frustration.
I still found myself wishing that there were some verbal clues occasionally (or perhaps for the visual clues to be more direct). Sometimes we really had to scan the screen to find what we were being asked to do. I also caught myself wishing that a couple of the options we were given to choose from really did lead to something. (Why yes, I would love to go chase butterflies! Hatch a dinosaur egg? Yes, please!)
Overall, Hello Spring is a still sweet little app with lots of activities that should give your preschooler lots of enjoyment. The improvements made by the developers have made it into a more well-rounded app for kids to enjoy. 4.5 stars.
