The New Pokemon Go Plus has Been Released!

So, what is the Pokemon Go Plus, anyway? What does it do? Yes, I wondered as well. Well, the Pokemon Go Plus is a wearable device that pairs with your smart phone via Bluetooth, so you can play the app without constantly staring at your smartphone screen. It can be clipped to your clothing or worn on a wristband.

A button on the device lights up different colors for PokeStops, Pokemon you have already come across, and new Pokemon. You then press the button to attempt to catch a Pokemon. Red means it it got away, and a multi-colored flashing light means you have caught it. There is no second chance to catch a Pokemon with the Pokemon Go Plus.

However, you can play with your phone sitting in your pocket or bag, and you can focus on where you are walking. According to Tech Crunch "...Niantic has added more functionality than was originally promised, including step tracking for hatching eggs and buddy training, and the ability to catch Pokémon you haven’t encountered before."
