Bottom Line: This app is super-cute with a tail-wagging puppy named Reggy that young children can interact and play with to reveal his many emotions and how a child's actions can influence them. This app has lots to discover for one room of play and kids will keep busy while falling in love with little Reggy.

Our friend Philip has a demonstration video for you to see how this app works. Take a look!
Reggy's Play Date consists of a single room full of toys and treats for a puppy as well as a few that he might not like and even a few surprises. When users first open the app, there is a parent section and also a button to show other apps from this developer, but both of these can be switched off in device settings to keep inquisitive toddler fingers away from the app store. Once they are removed,
children start using the app from inside the room without a welcome screen. The room has several areas of play including a rolling cabinet of toys, a water bowl with tap, a sausage shooter that can also shoot toys tossed into the top, a bed, window, radio and a ship wheel that adjusts the time of day.
Reggy and his emotions are the central unit of play. Kids get to introduce activities and determine what will make him happy or how to help if Reggy gets mad or scared. For instance, rubbing Reggy makes him roll over onto his belly and show hearts for love. Loving on Reggy has a 3D component, so the harder a child presses
while snuggling, the more hearts appear. Other emotional examples include turning on the radio to make him dance and when a storm rolls up outside, Reggy becomes scared and children can close the window to make him feel safe. Reggy will also get sad if a child holds a ball but doesn't play with him or get mad if a child throws something and hits him.
While tinkering with this app I found no bugs or kinks. The app is cleanly designed and objects interact as expected including some happy surprises that are discovered through tapping and dragging such as being able to change the time of day so users can get Reggy in bed to sleep, hitting him with a water balloon but then drying him off with a towel or putting a stick or ball in the sausage shooter to toss them for Reggy.
This is a fun little app that kids will love interacting with. Reggy has been designed adorably and his reactions are in line with what one would expect from a puppy play date. Highly recommended.
