Curious George is one of the most beloved, albeit mischievous, characters out there. He always means well, yet seems to end up in some of the most complicated situations a young monkey can possibly dream up.
Have you ever thought of why? George cannot truly communicate his thoughts, needs, desires, or feelings with the man in the yellow hat, or anyone else, for that matter.
He tries to communication by gesturing, pointing, and sometimes drawing, but that does not always work. It seems that Curious George needs some help. That is why he was the perfect subject for Dana over at Uncommon Sense to choose for this free, downloadable book about AAC.
The book tells the story of how Curious George has trouble communicating, how he gets a "talker"/AAC device, learns to use it, with the help of others, and is able to communicate with success. What a great book to have in your class, SLP room, and/or your home. With a lovable character like George, it is sure to be a hit!
