Note: I was testing this app out on a Samsung tablet, so I was reviewing it as an Android app. It’s also available, though, in an iOS version, and I checked that one out for y’all too. Gameplay is identical.
Fun Kid Racing Dinosaurs World offers 12 levels of racing fun that users can complete using various cars. Each car drives just a bit differently, so the gameplay stays fresh even if you’ve played a level multiple times. Users start the game with four cars available to them, but can eventually purchase up to 40 cars total (either through in-app purchases or with points that are earned upon the completion of levels.)
Each level finds the players racing against and along with dinosaurs to escape falling boulders and volcanic lava. Users will find their cars flipping through the air or racing almost straight up a cliff. There are many obstacles that must be navigated in order to get to the finish line. Whether there are boulders to be smashed or dinosaur eggs to be pushed out of the way, there are surprising things blocking your path along the way.
This game plays much like dozens of other racing games that are on the market that are just push the gas and go, but it adds in quirky surroundings and exciting obstacles. The controls couldn’t be simpler, just press go. While the controls are strictly “go”, users can learn how to control the play by learning when situations require that they let off the gas in order to drift though a portion of the path. And even though you can make better time if you know when to let off the gas and drift through places, you can still complete things eventually even if you just put the pedal to the metal.
When users reach the end of each level they will cross a finish line and be shown a graphic that displays their time to completion. Points are then awarded that can be used to purchase additional cars. Or if you would rather, new cars can be unlocked through in-app purchases.
Overall, this cute little game that offers simple controls but is entertaining enough to appeal to multiple age groups. I’m going to give it 4 stars.

Kelli was really concerned about the character in this app that was riding a scooter. It just didn't seem like a vehicle that would offer much protection from stampeding dinosaurs. Smart Apps For Kids was paid a fee to review this app.
