EXTRA! EXTRA! Now your kiddies can read all about it!
Timbuktu, from Timbuktu, Inc., is a Common-Core based magazine app that is specially made for growing learners agers 6-10.
The base app is free, and each “issue” (1 month) is $4.99. A whole year of Timbuktu on your iPad (only) is $29.99.
If you'd like to download Timbuktu Magazine (FREE with IAP Subscription) please use this link.
Each issue of Timbuktu is chock-full of educational info presented in quality graphics and animation.
Math, Spelling, Science, Music, and more can be found tucked away in each issue, but not in a “If I read one more educational material I think I might spit” kind of way. This app takes learning one more step-if it were any more hands on, you’d have a science lab in your living room!
Every month, your kiddos will have access to new kinds of information-that you know you can trust. New games and activities appear to facilitate learning.
There’s even a nifty “News of the Month” section- May’s topic is The Northern Lights!
“Timbuktu is the first iPad magazine for children. With 12 issues per year, your kids’ passion and joy about learning will grow exponentially. All the stories, games, and activities on Timbuktu are based on the Reggio Emilia Approach and is designed to help meet the Common Core State Standards while respecting their personal way of learning. Parents and teachers love Timbuktu because of its whimsical, innovative, and respectful approach to education. “
The little village of Timbuktu is a great way to get kiddos reading, learning, and thinking!
Rachel enjoyed cutting out magazine pictures to make collages as a child-no iPads were cut up in the writing of this review.
